MUDSTONE Live at The DownLo
This is gonna be a great show. We are playing with Steelhead and we’ll be rockin til midnight. See you there!!!
We just wanted to update everyone on what we have been up to lately. So as you all know, we recently brought in a new drummer, the amazing Jason King and we have been practicing like crazy so we can get things tight and ready to perform. We have really been focusing on our original music with minimal covers at this point and it has been great. We finally feel like we are at a point where we want to start playing live again and really take MUDSTONE to the next level. We released our first CD in 2011 and it was received well by our fans and we gained a lot of interest in the band because of it. Since then we have written a bunch of songs that we have played live and even some that we haven’t. We’ve had a few changes since we recorded that first CD and we believe we are better than we’ve ever been on every level. Right now we are currently booking some shows and we are writing even more new material for a new CD that we hope to release in early 2014!!! We are probably going to start recording just after the new year if not sooner. Another new change that has occurred in the MUDSTONE camp is that we now have a professional sound and recording engineer by the name of Tyler Johnson who has become a great friend of ours and he is working with us and greatly helping us record our practices and dial in our live sound. Good things to come for sure!!! MUDSTONE
So its official, we now have a drummer. Please welcome Jason King to the group. We have been rehearsing with Jason for a couple weeks now and it’s been a great experience. We have a great chemistry with Jason and it’s showing in our rehearsals because we are really getting up to speed quick. We still have a ways to go with rehearsals, but we are hoping to maybe be playing some shows this fall. One thing is for sure, we are having fun right now. We’ll see you all soon at the next MUDSTONE show!!!
So we are still auditioning drummers. Thanks to everyone who is helping us spread the word. Keep it up. I’ve been taking advantage of the down time recently by working on some new song ideas. Going well so far. I think JR is working on some new stuff as well and Rich always has something new ready to go. Eric and I were discussing some ideas the other day so we’ll be getting together also to work on new songs. I know some of our Chico fans have been asking us to come play. Chico has a couple great locations for doing acoustic shows so we might be able to do something like that until we get a drummer. Thanks for hangin’ with us and we’ll be out rockin’ soon…..JL
Mud Stone is currently looking for a new drummer. Looking for someone who is focused and dedicated with a positive attitude and drama free. You can checkout our website and Facebook pages to get info about the band and hear some songs. If your interested, send us an email or call Justin at 530-788-8050 or 530-632-5162.
So Jason is no longer drumming for MUDSTONE which means we are now looking for a drummer. So all you drummers out there or those of you who know drummers, get in touch with us so we can set up an audition. We are still performing this Saturday at the Lee Burrows Art Center so come out and hang with us. We will more than likely be performing acoustically which is a rare MUDSTONE event all on its own.
So I have some more details about our show this weekend at the 7 Mile House. This show is a semi-private show. The EMS Angels Motorcycle Club is doing a charity run and the entry fee is $20 which is actually a donation. Anyone who cares to come out is welcome, but you will also have to pay the $20 fee. They are BBQ’n hamburgers and hot dogs which is included in the $20 admission.
Good question. It has been a while since we have done an update so I’ll fill everyone in on what has been happening in MUDSTONE world. We have had some changes in the group in the past couple months. Damian Landerman is no longer playing with MUDSTONE. He has moved on to another group and we wish him the best. As a result of Damian’s departure from the band, we had to begin the process of finding another drummer. Well luck came our way because the first guy we contacted turned out to be a great fit. With that being said, Jason Fish is now the new drummer for MUDSTONE. You can find more info about Jason by clicking the band link. We are also making great progress at our rehearsals and we will be playing our first show on April 19th for an evening of music at Ellis Lake in Marysville. We have other dates scheduled as well so check our calendar for more shows. We are also discussing new ideas for MUDSTONE merchandise to have available at our shows this summer. That’s all for now. I’ll post more updates soon. JL
We would like to let you know that we have not disappeared. We have been in our Cave (the practice space) working on new material. We will be in your face soon!
Mudstone has been asked to perform at a fund raiser for the family of Rachael Gertz, on November 14th. We will be selling CD’s and Ladies Tanks and T’s. 100% of all proceeds from CD and shirt sales, will be donated to the Gertz fund. There will be street vendors, hair cuts, Zumba, and much more. So come out on “hump” night, enjoy some live music and donate to a good cause
